The following are some common registry hacks that can be done to your Windows Mobile Registry to correct, fix or eliminate or address typical annoyances or functions that typically occur with a Windows Mobile operating environment. Please note that making modifications to your registry can have catastrophic effects. Proceed at your own risk as I am providing no warranty for this information.

Windows Mobile Registry Hack 1- Removing Message Sent Notification when sending text messages:

Navigate to
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Inbox

Create a key called Settings

Create a String Value called SMSNoSendMsg

Set the value to 1

Windows Registry Hack 2 - Removing contents from the New Menu on the Today Screen:

Navigate to
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Shell\Extensions\NewMenu

From the presented keys, remove the items you no longer want. Adding items back is not easy and is not covered here, so use caution in what you remove.

Windows Mobile Registry Hack 3 - Set which Start Items should load at startup:

Navigate to
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Shell\Start Items

Add or Remove the keys related to the items you want to have run at startup.

Windows Mobile Registry Hack 4 - Adjust how many suggested words appear when typing:

Navigate to
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\Sip

Find SuggWords

Change value to between 0 and 6 (4 is default)

Now you can adjust further via Settings-> Input on your Windows Mobile device.
